The Neutrality of the Army and the End of the Monarchy

By declaring its neutrality, the army practically congratulated the people on the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran.

In Iran, the streets had practically become a battlefield

Imam Khomeini declared that martial law was a conspiracy and no one should stay home.

Bakhtiar had retreated another step back that day;

Last time he had said: "If a member of the interim government wants to enter the ministries, he will be arrested.", but this time he had said: “If any of the members of the interim government wants to enter the ministry by force, they will be arrested”

When the English Kayhan reporter asked him, If there is regime change, will the army accept it or not? Bakhtiar went so far as to say: “yes if the change is normal and calm, but not if they are by force and insult.”

He had almost realized that the job was done.

Street by street and neighbourhood by neighbourhood, the work of the Pahlavi government ends

At 10:30 a.m. that day, the military issued a statement;

And while pointing to the council that was formed in the morning in the Supreme Council of the Army,

They announced that they are neutral in any political conflict

And with this declaration, the Pahlavi government came to an end.

Mohammad-Reza had not been able to obtain a visa from any country

Finally, the Bahamas, a country in the Caribbean region,

agreed to accept him for a short time.

Mohammad-Reza finally returned to Sadat

And died of cancer in Cairo

He, like also his father and Ahmad Shah and Mohammad-Ali Shah, Ahmad Shah’s father,

had died in exile and abroad.

The fate of the last four kings of Iranian history showed,

That the heyday of the monarchy in Iran was over.

Now, it had been a while since the storm had passed

Mohammad-Reza’s ship finally broke in this last storm.

Now Mohammad-Reza was gone, but his departure

was not the end of the story and something in the world had changed.
