The Importance of Prediction
Making a prediction is so important that in the last century, various academic centres have been founded to conduct research on the changes that will occur in the future, and also studying the future has become an academic discipline in research institutes.
The History of the Supreme Leader’s Predictions
All those who know the Supreme Leader have acknowledged his intelligence, knowledge, prudence and foresight. The statements made by political and religious officials of other countries also prove this view. Having a high ability to analyze the domestic and international currents and events along with predicting the future events are the prominent characteristics of the Supreme Leader. Add to that predicting the failure of Middle East peace talks when reaching an international agreement seemed reachable, predicting the future of Syria after the death of Hafidh al-Asad, his predictions during the 33-Day War, and predicting the elimination of Israel and the liberation of al-Quds.
Predicting the Liberation of Palestine and the Elimination of Israel
There are many glad tidings about the elimination of Israel and the liberation of al-Quds in the statements and remarks of the scholars. Likewise, one could see the good news about such a phenomenon in Ayatollah Khamenei’s remarks. In one of his most explicit statements, the Supreme Leader says: “After the nuclear negotiations were concluded, we heard the Zionists say in occupied Palestine, ‘With these negotiations, we will not have any concerns about Iran for the next 25 years and after that, we will think about it.’ I would like to say in response that first, you will not see 25 years from today! By God’s favour and grace, nothing called the “Zionist regime” will exist by 25 years from now.”
Also, in a meeting with visiting secretary-general of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine, Ramadan Abdullah, Ayatollah Khamenei stated: “As I have said before, the Zionist regime will not exist in the next 25 years on the condition of [continuation of] a public and unified struggle by Palestinians and [all other] Muslims against Zionists.”
Some other statements of the Supreme Leader in which he predicted the future of Palestine are as follows: “Contrary to the corrupt politicians’ desire for the strength of the Zionist regime, this regime is getting closer to collapse and destruction day by day.”
“Surely, if all or even part of the capabilities of the Islamic world are utilized for this purpose, we will soon witness the downfall and annihilation of the Zionist regime.”
“Without a doubt, the bad tree of Israel which ‘uprooted from the ground’ and ‘has no stability’ (Quran, 14:26) will be eliminated.”
“Certainly, Palestine will definitely be liberated. It will be restored to the people of Palestine and a Palestinian government will be formed in this country. There is no doubt about the occurrence of such phenomenon.”
According to numerous reliable reports, the crimes that the Israeli regime has committed against humanity since its establishment, such as premeditated murder, annihilation, deportation or forced transfer, imprisonment or severe deprivation of liberty, and torture and racial discrimination leave no doubt that this terrorist regime is oppressive. The Supreme Leader has repeatedly addressed the examples of Israel’s cruelties and oppressions: “Occupying the independent country of Palestine, killing the Palestinian people, destroying their homes and farms and arresting and torturing men and women and even their children, attacking the refugee camps in Palestine and neighbouring countries where millions of refugees live, committing massacres such as Sabra and Shatila, Qana and Deir Yasin, killing the innocent and oppressed people of the Gaza Strip, shooting men, women and children and abandoning lonely and helpless women in the desert, bombing residential areas, committing terrorist acts inside and outside Palestine and in some case being pleased with doing so, violating moral standards, international commitments, and the nations’ rights to independence, seizing the people’s properties illegally, and the brutal attack on the Palestinian Muslims who were performing the prayer at the Ibrahimi Mosque during the month of Ramadan.
The Annihilation of Israel; A Divine Promise
Referring to the future of Palestine and al-Quds, the Supreme Leader of the Revolution frequently stated that the elimination of the Zionists is a divine promise mentioned in the Holy Quran: “What is the future of Palestine and al-Quds?... We should refer to God’s promise. Addressing the children of Israel, God Almighty says: ‘Twice you will cause corruption on the earth, and you will perpetrate great tyranny’ (Quran, 17:4)… This issue is always alive in history. God will help any nation that follows the natural path of the traditions of history with goodness and the weapon of truth and justice. On the contrary, any nation that promotes corruption, the oppression of people, and the violation of the human values, is doomed to failure and destruction.”
God Has Promised to Help the Believers
Anyone who believes in the divine promise of help which is mentioned in the Holy Quran (22:40; 47:7; 30:47; 40:51), can predict the demise and destruction of Israel. According to the Supreme Leader: “By the power of God and due to the efforts of the brave Palestinians as well as the supports of the Muslim nations and governments, this movement continues until the enemy will be completely defeated and destroyed; this will happen and they would enjoy the divine victory; ‘God will surely help those who help Him. Indeed, God is all-strong, all-mighty” …Without a doubt, in the struggle between truth and falsehood, victory belongs to the first and defeat and decline is the fate of the latter... Divine help and victory is an inalienable right regarding which the Holy Quran states: ‘If you help God, He will help you and make your feet steady’, ‘God will surely help those who help Him’, and ‘Indeed My righteous servants shall inherit the earth.’”
Eradication of the Impure Tree
The Quranic evidence for the destruction of Israel, which is also mentioned in the remarks of the Supreme Leader, is the verse 26 of Surah Ibrahim; “And the parable of a bad word is that of a bad tree: uprooted from the ground, it has no stability”; he states that the term “bad word” is like an impure tree that has been uprooted from the ground and has no stability.
In fact, since the Zionist regime continues to kill the oppressed people of Palestine and does nothing but persecution and oppression, it can be described as a bad and impure tree that has no stability and is doomed to failure and destruction. The Supreme Leader states: “There should be no doubt that this bad tree which ’uprooted from the ground’ and ‘has no stability’ will be destroyed. Also, there is no doubt that the truth will prevail and Palestine will return to the Islamic world.”
Falsehood Will Vanish
According to verse 81 of Surah al-Isra falsehood is bound to vanish: “And say, the truth has come, and falsehood has vanished. Indeed, falsehood is bound to vanish.”
Ayatollah Khamenei says: “Certainly, ‘falsehood’ means things which are against the divine tradition and creation. Evil is bound to perish and it is not eternal. One can see the signs of this destruction. When we look at global conditions, we see the signs of this destruction.”
The Victory of the Followers of Truth: A Divine Tradition
God’s traditions and prescriptions feature certainty and continuity and would emerge when their subjects are realized. This feature of the divine traditions is mentioned in some verses of the Holy Quran. In verses 7-8 of Surah al-Anfal, we read: “God desires to confirm the truth with His words, and to root out the faithless; so that He may confirm the truth and bring falsehood to naught, though the guilty should be averse.”
According to such verses of the Holy Quran, the elimination of Israel is definite and unquestionable.
