The Shiraz Arts Festival was an annual international summer arts festival held by Farah Diba, wife of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, King of Iran, from 1967 to 1977 in the cities of Shiraz and Persepolis in central Iran.
The 11th and last art festival was held in 1977 based on theater. The plays performed at the festival were usually in conflict with the national and religious culture of Iran, but between these plays, the pig, child, fire theater was held in utter Shamelessness; in this play, on the sidewalk and in front of the eyes of men, women, and children, a man actually raped a woman.
